Why Choose Summit Therapy?

About Dr. Stephanie Wymyslo

I graduated from Northern Arizona University with my doctorate in Occupational Therapy in 2017. I began working in the Medical Center in Houston, TX before starting a travel therapy position in Honolulu, HI. After spending time in various healthcare settings, I recognized a gap in the services being provided. Through my own personal journey into yoga and meditation, I realized that well-being is so much more than physical health. We can’t treat the body without treating the mind.

I started Summit Therapy because I feel passionately about providing hands on, individualized care where I have the time and freedom to listen and evaluate your unique physical and emotional circumstances in order to develop meaningful treatment plans that will teach you strategies to implement in all aspects of your life in order to reach your goals.

I truly believe “healed people heal people”, and have dedicated years of education and self-practice in order to be able to share this knowledge with others. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher , I hold certificates in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and I am currently in training to be a Certified Yoga Therapist. By combining these with my medical background, I am able to maximize on the mind-body connection to improve quality of life.

In my personal life, I find the most joy outdoors in the sunshine, especially in the mountains. The most important thing to me is the connections I have with the people (and animals) I love. I like to travel and hike (I have a goal to hike the tallest peak in every state and have completed 15 so far). I love to learn, both formally and informally. I also enjoy camping, Acro yoga, snowboarding, and puzzles. Questions? Reach out!

Why “Summit” Therapy?

Summit Therapy was named after my Sheepadoodle pup, Summit. As a registered therapy dog, he is able to participate in sessions if requested.

Why “Summit? The mountains are my favorite place to be. Both full of movement and incredibly still, they calm me while teaching me about myself. Nature can be SO healing. Even just closing your eyes and imagining your favorite places can calm your nervous system.

I am here to help you on your journey to your “peak”, whatever that looks like to you. We all know the old cliché “It’s the journey, not the destination”, and I have found the mountains to be the best teacher of this. And after all, a long hike is always easier with a friend.
